Gelonii Muhyiddin Abduqadir ibn Abiy Salih Jangidost (1077, Gelon region, Iran - 1166) was a Persian theologian and mystic. At the age of 18, he came to Baghdad and learned from many scholars. His sermons related to the Hanbali sect became famous. Later, Geloni worked as a Qur'an commentator and mufti. He teaches hadith and jurisprudence. Geloni was a staunch follower of the Hanbali sect and strictly followed the Sunnah of Muhammad (peace be upon him). In his sermons, he described ten moral rules necessary for Muslims. Even though Geloni did not create his own style of order, he was not the head of any order, but he is considered the founder of the Qadiriya Sufi order. But, in fact, this order was created by his descendants or murids only in the middle of the 13th century, according to some experts, even in the 15th century. The masses of the people praised him as the patron of saints and poor people who were able to perform miracles. He was given the nicknames Gavsul Azam ("great protector") and piri dastgir ("helpful pir"). The Geloni Mausoleum is located in Baghdad and is one of the most famous holy places in Islam.

Jilani initially received his education from Abu Zakariya Tabrizi. At the age of sixteen, he went to Baghdad, where he studied the sciences of theology and hadith under prominent scholars such as Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad, Abul Qasim ibn Ahmad ibn Bayan, and Abu Talib ibn Yusuf. He studied Islamic jurisprudence under Ali ibn Abu Sa'id Mukhrumi, from whom he also received his cloak of Shaykhhood.

Upon returning to Baghdad, Abdul Qadir Jilani taught at a madrasa. He delivered sermons and educated students for thirty-three years. Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani is the founder of the Qadiriyya Sufi order and is known for promoting the idea of "engagement and detachment" (being engaged with the world while the heart remains detached from it).
