Ulugbek Madrasah

Today we practised Ulugbek madrasah. Weather is very shiny. Our teacher Inobat Zoirovna checked notebooks. 

And so my blog starts.



Ulugbek Madrasah was found in 1417, as the inscription on the bronze plate of door runs says. There is a name of master in the portal tympanum, which was building this monument – Ismail ibn Takhir ibn Makhmud Ispfargoni. It is possible he was a grandson of one of the masters, who had been captured by Timur in Iran and left their names on the portal of Gur-Amir complex in Samarkand.


Bukhara Madrasah is the first Madrasah, built by Ulugbek. It is comparatively small, but has great forms. This is a building with two-ayvan square yard, surrounded by two-storey hudjrs, with darskhana cupola halls and mosque on the cross of entrance hall.




Ulugbek Madrasah was repaired several times. The first repair was made on the order of Ubaidullah Khan (1533 -1539 years). During the reign of Khan and his son Abdulaziz (1539 - 1549) in the Ulugbek Madrasah were taught eminent scholars, poets, calligraphers.After a while, in 1586, here was made even one repair, and several inscriptions kept archival document about this restoration of the madrasah fragments. Around the end of XIX - early XX centuries the madrasah was redecorated during the reign of Bukhara khalifat.



Near the middle column under the dome there is a miniature cauldron made of calcium carbonate (limestone). Sometime later, after pouring the water into the boiler, the water comes to a warm state. Ulugbek Madrasah, built under the architect Ismail Ibn Tahir Ibn Mahmud Isfagani, long served as a model for the construction of similar structures, for it perfectly embodied the medieval notion of how an austere house of learning should appear. Its simple layout and design, void of superfluous decoration, places it in contrast with its counterpart in Samarkand, which along with Sher Dor Madrasah and Tillya-Kori Madrasah comprise the famed Registan.

Sadriddiy Ayniy

 Hello everyone👋 Today we learnt about Sadriddin Ayniy home-museum. Teacher brought us this place. The weather was shiny and very hot🌸 So I start. The Kukeldash madrasah, one of the largest in Central Asia, is located in the Labi-Hauz architectural ensemble (16th -17th cc.). The madrasah was built during the reign of Abdullakhan of the Sheibanid dynasty. With its 160 hudjras (dwelling cells), the madrasah has very interesting composition. Its external walls have open balconies and beautiful ornamentation. Sadriddin Ayni, the great writer and educator, lived and studied in this madrasah. The memorial museum, placed in the Kukeldash madrasa, is devoted to the lives of Sadriddin Ayni (1878-1954) and Jalol Ikromi (1909-1989), the outstanding classical writers of the Uzbek and Tajik literature. Minorai Kalon

Hello everyone. Our first practice was very well. Today the westher was rainy. And all coursemates caught a cold.So I will begin to start information about Minorai Kalon. Minarai Kalon (Big Tower), Arslankhan Tower is an architectural monument in Bukhara. It was built by Arslan Khan (1127) based on the project of engineer and architect Baqo. M.k. there used to be a minaret in its place, after it collapsed, the current one was rebuilt. The foundation is made of a mixture of stone and special rock. 9 m below ground level, bal. 50.0 m, the chair is sharp, the body is spherical, and the top is connected with a circular cage-box. The tower tapers upwards and ends with a muqarnas. You can observe the surroundings through 16 arched windows in the cage.
